At Noah’s Ark we work closely with children with a disability, their families and the services they participate in. Every kid develops meaningful relationships, participates and learns with the encouragement and accepting of their families, carers, educators and communities. Our Board includes parents of children with a disability, premature childhood professionals and business representatives. She has over 30 years’ experience in account, project, sales and change management for corporations in both Australia and the U.S. Nikki has two young children, her youngest receives services at Noah’s Ark. He is a keen support for better services and educational outcomes for children with disabilities and their families. Kerry has worked extensively in the field of early childhood education and protection and premature childhood intervention as a teacher and manager of programs in Melbourne and rural Victoria. Gayle has worked within her role at Noah’s Ark for more than six years and has previously worked in the corporate sector in a financial management role. Jenny has been managing Noah’s Ark’s programs in the Gippsland region for more than 15 years. Donna has worked for Noah’s Ark for 12 years, first as a team leader and a Key Worker in Werribee for seven years, then a regional manager in 2010. Michele Totterdell began her career as an premature childhood educator with the aim of occupied in the disability sector. She has a Graduate Diploma in Notable Education and extensive experience in hasty childhood education and hasty childhood intervention both as an educator and a manager. Noah’s Ark is committed to building stronger relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and organizations and to providing respectful, responsive and culturally suitable services. In 1971, we started as the Noah’s Ark Toy Library for Handicapped Children, run by a trivial group of parents of children with a disability. At the time, families were beginning to refuse to put their children with disabilities into institutional care and institutions stopped admitting young children. This social change meant that children began to live at home, prompting the need for new education and therapy services. They established toy libraries for children with a disability. The service recognized the importance of play in a child’s development and provided a store for families to discuss the challenges of parenting.
